Public Safety Dispatcher (Current Employee) - Fort Polk, LA - 18 May 2019
I loved working for DoD and if not for miss management i would still be there. As a senior Public Safety Dispatcher, I'm certified APCO and Department Of Defense Telecommunication I & II. I provide emergency police, fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and dispatching appropriate personnel and equipment. I maintain an accurate status of emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure that prompt and proper resources are dispatched. This includes police, fire fighting, hazardous materials, technical rescue and ambulance equipment. I provide Emergency Medical Dispatch Life Support care through pre-arrival instructions to callers. The work requires knowledge of Law Enforcement and Fire Service terminology, techniques, and procedures, including operations associated with airfield crash/rescue, hazardous materials, wild land fires, confined space rescue, structural firefighting, strategies and tactics and Incident Command. My position requires knowledge of fire suppression systems, fire alarm detection equipment, the Louisiana State Police Information Network and Commercial Intrusion Detection Alarm Systems. In addition, I have knowledge of on post facilities, their layout, types of structures or other similar characteristics for the purpose of dispatching emergency equipment and personnel. Responsible for the receipt and effective evaluation of 911 emergency calls, to include fire, police, ambulance service, and commercial Intrusion Detection System alarms; I'm Responsible for caller interrogation to determine the nature of the emergency, -
