it was really good every day that I was going to work. The work environment is really good and the salary too. People try to motivate you and look always for ways to involve other people.

Expectation of giving more for less pay/benefits. Very difficult to fit in with academics view of your work. Difficult to carry out work with a constantly changing scope and agenda.

Working here was a great opportunity and the days were very relaxed and not a high intensity job. Uniforms were given which were a bonus and very helpful management team.

As Facilities Coordinator at the Burnley Campus University of Melbourne I was entrusted with implementing policies, OHS compliancy and legal requirements. I take great pride in the knowledge the current policies are still active across the 12 hectare Campus of Burnley and also proactively managed security, maintenance and facilities issues.
Pros
Good Superannuation benefits

Like a lot of universities, Melbourne employs poorly-paid, short-term contract lecturers with no job security and little prospect of advancement. Glad to have done it, but once was enough.
