work/life balance is not good

UNSW was good/supportive for me when I was a student. Things become quite different when become a full time staff. You have to be very good at saying no to achieve some sort of work/life balance.

Good place to do research

I was working at MECH School. My supervisor was encouraging and supportive, and My group was like a family that everyone cares each other. How fast the working pace depends on the research group and how much the working load depends on how much I wanted to achieve. For me, I never had a good weekend, and most of the time I was handling multiple tasks. Fortunate is that my effort was paid off in research outcome, and the Uni would force me to take annual leave.
