Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Police Officer in Victoria Police
If you aren't fully committed, it's not for you
Senior Constable (Former Employee) - Victoria - 26 January 2023
This is a good job for the right people. Though, if you aren't prepared to work overtime sitting in front of a computer, standing on the side of the road or guarding people having a psychiatric crisis at the hospital, then it's not for you. You won't be worn down by the typical things you'd expect like accidents and fatalities. It's dealing with the same people and paperwork everyday with no resolutions. It very quickly becomes a grind when you can't do meaningful work and actually help those who need it
Pros
Good leave and benefits
Cons
Unfulfilling outcomes. Constant scrutiny and tedious processess

Police Officer (Former Employee) - Broadmeadows, VIC - 30 April 2014
It is a dangerous and arduous occupation. Whilst salary and job security rate high a good organisation is ruined by it's management.
Pros
9 weeks leave a year
Cons
difficult on family/social life
