Good work/life balance
Project Officer (Current Employee) - Penrith NSW - 19 November 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedReasonable pay. Nice campuses/offices. Not as strong culture-wise, but slowly improving. Work load is often very high due to lack of resources and other road blocks.

Excellent quality of people working in there
Procurement Officer (Current Employee) - Richmond NSW - 23 September 2023
It has been a truly remarkable experience working here. The level of responsiveness and kindness exhibited by the people around has made every interaction with other departments exceptionally pleasant. This positive atmosphere not only enhances productivity but also fosters a sense of unity and collaboration throughout the organization. It's a testament to the wonderful work culture that exists here.

Poor management at all levels that enable a bullying culture and negative environment.
Administration Officer (Former Employee) - Parramatta NSW - 16 September 2022
Poor management at all levels that enable a bullying culture and negative environment. Inexperienced and petty staff have replaced knowledgeable staff that were lost in restructures. More time is spent on micro-managing tasks and counting emails answered, than on actual content and helping students. Segregation of duties have resulted in boring jobs that provide no satisfaction, and work life balance is a joke. Don't work here!
Pros
Weekends
Cons
Working at WSU

Horrible place to work
Teacher (Former Employee) - Parramatta NSW - 3 November 2021
Poorly managed and poor working environment. Avoid working at this “university” at all cost. Not a genuine place to be (or even study!). If you do go ahead with a job here, expect to be overworked with little appreciation. I’m speaking about the Law School in particular.
Cons
Long hours, poor management, everything really

A collaborative and supportive workplace
Sessional Staff (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 27 April 2021
A very collaborative and supportive work environment that is conducive to professional growth and learning. Flexible hours and an empathetic stance towards individual predicaments renders this institution one of the most employee-centred places to work in.

Productive and Fun
CAMPUS LIFE OFFICER- WESTERN SYDNEY UNIVERSITY (Former Employee) - Parramatta NSW - 14 April 2020
Western Sydney provides opportunity throughout your employment to experience different fields. The professional development is second to none and totally recommend taking advantage of it.
The culture is a fun and exciting with a true professional focus on there long/ short term values and views.
With all that said the only downside is that I work in a department that had the most cohesive team ethic but management has been unsympathetic and self-absorb with is there self advancement which may cause unease at the best of times.

A workplace
Student Voice Officer (Current Employee) - Milperra NSW - 16 February 2020
Learned a lot and enjoyed a workplace with so many opportunities both in house and externally. It is a shame the job security is so poor because it is a fantastic place to be.

There is very little support/opportunity for staff to advance ..
School of no hope (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 February 2020
Not a very pleasant culture to work in, bullying is rife, too many restructures and the loss of experienced staff to inexperienced people and that's the good points !

Very good place to research
Research Fellow (Current Employee) - Richmond NSW - 9 February 2020
There are many research facilities and many good scientists, so it is the best place to research. Particularly climate change in agricultural and forest.

Great workplace environment for a teaching experience
Assistant Instructor/Research Assistant/Lecturer (Current Employee) - Campbelltown NSW - 15 December 2019
- Great time teaching, not as much fun administratively.
- Often difficult to plan your hours from semester to semester
- Many different campuses always going the opposite way of rush-hour traffic

Student Enquiry and Information Officer (Former Employee) - New South Wales - 2 December 2019
Productive and Fun work place. I was lucky to be surrounded by all wonderful and amazing colleagues. There were quite senior colleagues but they never let me feel I am new. They were very helpful, motivating and patient while training me. They always maintained a positive energy at work. Loved working there and miss everyone now.

An excellent place to make a difference to students in the West!
Service Delivery Manager (Former Employee) - Richmond NSW - 21 November 2019
Continuous improvement of services. Business case, SLA, Incident management, problem management, change management, project management, change management and knowledge management.
Helping people improve their processes and ICT systems in line with the organization strategy.. The hard part was being handed sub standard solutions and fixing it operationally. My key learning were a growth in end to end service management and vendor management in a large scale organization.
