What is the work environment and culture like at Westpac Group?

  • One-team, from branch to region we felt close knit. Even visiting Epping meeting the other HFM's who consulted their clients at a branch remotely via Zoom for branches that didn't have a Home Finance Manager - HFM, was great. Especially rural areas.
How it worked is the client at the branch goes into a comfy designated office with a large screen with excellent audio, dials in with a Zoom meeting time with an HFM, and he/she starts the Home Loan Application process live there and then. That's after an introduction and a good chat and lots of questions from both parties of-course. All documents verified get by branch staff and sent off to Concord for processing and approval. :-) Brilliant !!

  • The culture at Westpac is currently in disarray (2020). The organisation is saying things it must to stay profitable, viable & compliant. In reality, it almost never does what it says

  • Wonderful place to work - all staff have customers as their No 1 priority
