Busy regional council
There is a new management structure being put in place at the moment to rationalise the org structure. The council has some current challenges, so work is very demanding and resources are tight. The region is an attractive place to live, so is able to attract quality people for key roles. The economy is diverse, so there is opportunity to absorb fluctuations in commodity prices for primay industries. The region has close connections with the broader region of mackay and townsville so this supports some greater networks for professional development. The region has a large footprint so the requirement to travel (drive) is high, which can cause some time challenges to get work complete.
