Woolworths Supermarket Employee Review
not bad
Fresh Produce Team Member (Current Employee) - Chester Hill NSW - 5 August 2023
I've been working at Woolworths for the past two years, and I must say it has been an incredibly positive experience. From the moment I joined the team, I felt welcomed and supported by my colleagues and managers. One of the best aspects of working at Woolworths is the sense of teamwork and camaraderie. The company places a strong emphasis on collaboration, and everyone is encouraged to contribute their ideas and suggestions. Whether it's during team meetings or daily interactions, I always felt that my opinions were valued and taken into account. Another standout feature is the focus on employee training and development. Woolworths invests in its employees' growth by offering various training programs and opportunities for advancement. I've had the chance to attend workshops and seminars that have not only enhanced my skills but also boosted my confidence in my role. The company culture at Woolworths is one that promotes work-life balance. I appreciate the flexibility in scheduling, which has allowed me to manage my personal life effectively. Moreover, the management has been understanding and accommodating when it comes to unforeseen circumstances, making it a truly supportive environment. The benefits and perks at Woolworths are also commendable. Apart from the competitive salary, there are employee discounts on store products, which is a fantastic incentive for team members. Working in the fruit and vegetable department at Woolworths is an unexpectedly vibrant and delightful experience. At first glance, one might think that handling fruits and veggies is straightforward, but every day presents an invigorating mix of tasks and challenges. I've found immense satisfaction in artfully arranging the produce, ensuring that the most radiant oranges, crispest apples, and juiciest tomatoes are on display for our customers. The burst of colors, textures, and even scents create a lively atmosphere that is a treat for the senses. Moreover, engaging with a diverse clientele, each with their unique preferences and questions about produce, makes each shift an adventure. The camaraderie among the team is genuine, as we share stories, tips, and occasionally indulge in light-hearted vegetable puns. We are not just stocking shelves; we are curators of nature's palette, and the integral role we play in people's daily nutrition brings a deep sense of purpose. All in all, it's a refreshingly fun journey that keeps me coming back, day after day.

Productive and educational in many areas
Cashier (Former Employee) - Chester Hill NSW - 13 December 2016
Customer service meant serving a lot of different personalities, learning about different products, learnt about financial matters, general customer service and skills, co workers and management were very friendly, hardest part would be learning how to time manage tasks, most enjoyable part was meeting different customers and having the occasional regular customers.
Pros
Free lunches and staff discounts
Cons
Working understaffed
