Great place to work, just a bad area with high school students always trying to shoplift. Other than that good management and everyone is super helpful :)

Good Workplace, Higher management lacks in-store vision
Customer Service Manager (Current Employee) - Adelaide SA - 5 December 2023
Woolworths at a base is a great place to work with flexible hours, easy work for the most part. However, with hours being cut and jobs being the same if not needing more work to be done with new processes and having to roster with lack of hours makes the job more stressful and harder to complete. The hours given are the exact amount of hours that a person needs to finish the job. Nothing is taken into factor such as something going wrong, slower new workers, someone calling in sick. The hours give no leniency for mistakes which makes the workplace hard to function at a good place and consistently getting behind on work with no time to catch up due to budget problems.

Uncomfortable first day at work!
Team Member (Current Employee) - Tweed Heads NSW - 5 December 2023
Workplace environment is great but I really appreciate a supervisor or a buddy to come over and show me the rope’s a bit more, staff are friendly but they seem to show lack of interest in showing the new employee’s on what to do and I barely seen any managers on sight so it seems like fend for yourself situation.

fine. improvements can be made
Team Member (Part Time) (Former Employee) - Corio VIC - 4 December 2023
fine, management could be better organised. good place for first time job for youth, however pay increases as workers get older should be greater than they are

Flexible and good team environment
Team Member (Casual) (Current Employee) - WA - 4 December 2023
Good place to work for students in high school as the hours are flexible. There is a strong sense of community and you are made to feel apart of the team.

Good first job
Customer Service (Current Employee) - Raymond Terrace NSW - 3 December 2023
Good place for a first job with pretty good pay. Worst part is not getting any shifts for ages or just getting 3 hour shifts. As well as always getting asked to come in asap.

It is productive but no fun working.
Night Fill Team Member (Current Employee) - Western Australia - 1 December 2023
The management is very poor and kinda biased with decision making. The employees are very good except for the management team. The hardest part of the job is by working after signing off from WorkJam.
Pros
No break
Cons
Short shifts (max of 4 hours)

Good money, toxic workplace
Good money, toxic workplace (Current Employee) - Wagga Wagga NSW - 1 December 2023
Group manager plays favourites with career progressions going to the favourite staff members while the rest of us suffer. Money is good but not worth the mental trauma

Horrible
Front End Cashier (Former Employee) - Morayfield QLD - 29 November 2023
Bad management , bad pay , bad hours . No one really cares how you feel as long as you show up and do your job. Management doesn’t really care for the abuse you take either.

People are fun, customers can be tough
Front End Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - Doncaster VIC - 28 November 2023
Customers can be tough to deal with but overall work was fun. If you have the right people around you, you can get through anything. Also the management wasn't amazing, the staff members were all so loving and we were like a family

A little all over the place
Team Member (Current Employee) - Bendigo VIC - 28 November 2023
What can I say about working here... well, they'll tell you they are "flexible" but in reality, not so much. Don't bother putting your availability in with them unless you like to be rostered on when you've stated you're unavailable. I've had a a few sneaky shifts added to my roster without my consent. We've had so many manager changes in the last 3 months, it's getting ridiculous. I've also been asked if I could come in AFTER handing in a medical certificate (by 2 different managers on the same day). The only thing I like about this job are my fellow colleagues. Easy to get along with and super friendly. This is just at my store, though. Not sure if other stores are better, the same or worse.
Pros
Penalty rates, friendly co-workers
Cons
Management, rosters, communication between staff and managers

I’ve learned a lot working for Woolworths, there’s ability to grow and excel, as long as you have a good team and management. It’s a gray place to work
Pros
Snack provided, team discount
Cons
Hours due to change

Friendly Store
Personal Shopper (Current Employee) - Springfield QLD - 26 November 2023
From my experience, everyone in the store is super easy to work with and makes the stresses and expectations placed on your department that bit more bearable. Co-workers are friendly and supportive.
