Differs based off store, management are supportive in developing careers. Can be stressful depending on your position but can generally create great friendships within teams

Good easy going job

Pros: - Easy going job with great colleagues and managers. (Your mileage may vary) - Good enough pay with casual loading and penalty rates for working nights.Cons: - Can be quite repetitive with some heavy lifting required. - Hours may not be enough for some but management were always willing to help or move you to different department!

Great company to work for

I worked in this company for one year and I can only say good things about it. Great managers. Good job conditions. Good life-work balance. Good salary. Definitely one of the best companies in Australia.

OK for Casual job

As a casual, whenever the management change my hours change dramatically as they do not like to give shifts to casuals and rather part timers. Upper management never care about the wellbeing of others and can be quite hypocritical where they hold employees to very high standards whilst doing barely the bare minimum themselves. I have learnt to just work at my own comfortable pace rather than breaking my back as you will not be rewarded or recognised and do not get paid any more.

Pros

Good entry level job

Cons

lack of care from management and unreliable hours

Relaxing and easy going

Working at Woolworths as a trolley collector is overall quite relaxing and chill. Can get busy on Sunday but there’s always two people working at once to deal with the demand.

Good people but bad pay

Good people but repetitive. Good for experience especially anyone looking for their 1st job. Not good pay though, for anyone under 18. The management was also very good and always very friendly.

Team management

Great place to start your working career get that experience and leave. People were great to work with. management needs a lot work and training in some stores that people are not just numbers.

Pros

Free lunch

Cons

Unrealistic goals set for staff

Good place to work for Students, that's it

Its only good for students really, can't really make a living off working at woolworths. Job is boring and repetitive, no variety in shifts. Good job to gain experience for a better job.

Overall an ok work environment.

After being with the company for over 4 years the job can and does get very repetitive. The company likes to keep people casual and it can be difficult to fund your lifestyle. The hardest part of the job is customer interaction and staying motivated within the role.My store is making efforts to keep up morale.

Online Personal Shopper

Pretty good only issue is if your we're casual we're we're never guaranteed regular hours working either both weekends or definitely one of the weekends so longer serving employees got their hours and days they preferred really great fun and work members though.

Nice place to work

The pay at woolworths is very good for the little work you have to do. Variety in work and options to try different departments, overall pretty easy job

Bad management

So the workers were great, i met a lot of amazing people and had so much fun with these people. the work colleagues were great, my supervisors were great, my ASSISTANT manager was great…except for the front end manager. i once asked to leave work early for a medical reason and i basically got told to “think about whether or not you want to be here because otherwise you can leave”. I went to work with covid at some point (unknowingly) and i was so scared to ask to leave even though i was basically shivering and trying not to throw up on a 5 hours shift

Pros

the workers

Cons

management

An okay job that can get stressful

The job had flexibility which was good but often we were short staffed which made everything stressful. The team I was in were all good people, most of the problems came from expectations from management.

Pros

Flexible shifts

Cons

Lack of staff

Good place to start and earn some extra money

Team is really supportive, always ready to help. Overall, it is fun to work there, but some challenges happen such as dealing with annoyed customers. Pay is avarage for the cashier job with working loads on weekends, evening shifts.

Overall good conditions, but unfulfilling

Woolworths is, in most aspects, a decent workplace. The work isn't too difficult nor stressful most of the time, and stuff like overtime rates, leave, workers comp is all pretty good. Unfortunately though, its just pretty mind numbing and leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe this is just a personal issue, but I do not have an interest in my job, and combining that with customer service really wears you down over time and leaves you feeling like you're wasting your potential. Don't get me wrong, Woolworths is pretty great, all things considered, especially if its your first job. But its hard to feel passionate about a job you don't care about, especially earning minimum wage (or close to - it depends). Unfortunately the job market is so difficult to get into these days with employers constantly raising the bar, so if you have the opportunity to work at Woolworths, tbh I'd say go for it. Personally for me its a transitional phase while I find a job I actually enjoy.

Easy job

Wish i could of got more hours or made permanent then i would have stayed. My supervisor of Inventory was awesome, she tried her best to try help me by putting in a good word for me to management to get me fulltime asap. So they wouldnt lose me, but I couldnt wait that long so sadly had to resign. Company really looks out for their workers e.g highly encouraged to sign up to the union ( not many companies would encourage that). Would I go back? Sure i enjoyed stacking shelves and helping customers
