Great place to work. Happy people. The working aspect was a bit physically demanding as your lifting fruits a lot however there are expections to delivery such as mechandising and keeping the fruit and veg area clean

Boring but flexible job

lots of drama between staff, easy but boring work so days drag on a bit, mostly flexible if you have another job/studies to work around. Pay is not great but can get a bit more on weekends

garbage

woolworths are only ever concerned about cutting hours and making the most profit. consistently understaffed during peak hours and management never helped

Okay.

Working at woolworths is just okay. Most managers do not care about your wellbeing or how you are doing, and everything has to do with the bottom dollar. It would be nice if the company cared more about their employees than just the money!

average

The job is monotonous but the pay more than average as you're working late night. It does a toll on your back . Not suitable for a long term career. But the job is mentally stressless

Eh

Not great had little training and management was rude and uncaring. Didn’t get many hours either and ultimately moved on somewhere else. Good for students though

Good as a 2nd job

Would recommend as a 2nd job. Pay is low but meet some lovely people there. You don't get a choice as to where you can pick. If you're a fast picker, you'll be in fridge for a very long time, freezing your butt off.

Cons

Pay

Productive and good place to learn

Nice place to start a career after a long break . Team member and my Manager is very supportive at all the time . Hardest part when you have a face a rude customer.

Exploitative from top down

Everyone is miserable. Not paid enough to deal with customers. Upper management are horrible to management who pass it on to employees. Lack of basic resources creates unnecessary rivalries between departments.

Pros

Staff discount

Cons

Poor management

Good part time low effort

Job is not too difficult and is relatively flexible. Stocking shelves all day may get tiring but you are never really pushed. Management have their days but most of the time they're ok.

Supportive coworkers and nice working place

The team lead really makes a huge difference for the team environment. Overall a very nice and comfortable place to work. The staff room is always well-decorated and lovely.

tiring experience

i was at a store where it was constantly very understaffed, ive had to do 2-3 peoples jobs at the same time, i felt like i was getting underpaid. So it was very easy to get burnt out as the pay was not very rewarding. a lot of my coworkers liked slacking off, and it was a pain to always pick up their slack, managment dont say anything about it.

It's good for security

The train you well and everyone there is pretty good. It can get a little bit cliquey but you can show up, do your job and go home and the pay and rates are pretty decent.

Fair pay

Fair pay for only 2 days work (after tax). Management was fair and always understanding about health and safety concerns raised. I really enjoyed my time with them

Fun work place

Good place to work at, nice staff, really helpful managers. But that’s depending where you are, They can be nice but heard other wise at different places. produce is the best it’s not that boring and it’s fun.

An okay place to work.

Working in produce is my favourite part, a decent balance of not too difficult and not too boring. Grocery and customer service are way more boring.Managers are surprisingly decent, at least at my store.

Good working environment

The people at Woolworths are great. Always willing to help and assist. Management was okay. In terms of career progression within the company, it is difficult.

Extremely dependant on managers

They rotate managers every two or so years, it can be a very corrupt process where the store and other managers bring in past friends and co workers. You may or may not get a good manager and they have a lot of sway over your experience. They prefer young children to pay them low junior rates and expect them to work at the same pace as everyone else (which is already above our pay grade).

Pros

Flexible hours (for casual)

Cons

Management is a huge hit or miss

Customer service/front end

Working in front end is alright but eventually you get pretty burnt out especially since the work is so repetitive (bagging items and walking up and down self checkout). The group interview was easy . There were around 20 of us being interviewed by the store manger and 2 other department managers. We basically had to say an interesting fact about ourself and why we would want to work at Woolies and then we were put in groups to do activities. I got an offer for the job about a week later. Induction was easy and so is learning how to use the registers and serve customers.

Pros

Decent pay, friendly coworkers

Cons

Easy to come across rude customers since you’re serving so many people everyday, fast paced environment, can get really busy at times and you can be left on a register or assisted checkouts for hours, management isn’t the best

Fun workplace with good staff

You have your own job your department manager tells you at the start of your work, also there's different departments. Fruit and Veg is the best. The rest is pretty basic

Hands on and ok

Hours were unsocial able lot's of micro managing going onTeam members are nice The job is hands on but can be pressure from management as you are against the clock
