great if the team is cohesive

great job when everyone works together to get it done and be out on time. Good team leaders make the job easier, not much communication from upper management.

Good easy going job

Pros: - Easy going job with great colleagues and managers. (Your mileage may vary) - Good enough pay with casual loading and penalty rates for working nights.Cons: - Can be quite repetitive with some heavy lifting required. - Hours may not be enough for some but management were always willing to help or move you to different department!

long hours and tough Worklife balance

It's a fun job if you have the right team, otherwise it's pretty tough. Anti social hours makes it hard to have any work life balance unfortunately. Starting salary packages are decent though

Average

The workload is achievable, colleagues are fun to work with. There was a steep learning curve when I first started, and nighttime work takes its toll on personal life and health.

Has standover, bullying management

Work for 8.5years training and support management and employees, then woolworths are employing young new aged workers that will not take care, pride, or instruction from senior staff but that is what woolworths Nerang management accepts and says it is right, you have no say

Pros

Staff are friendly

Cons

Long hours

The job itself is good

I liked the job itself, packing stock and doing things at my own pace was cool, except I would always get rushed by other team members that had no authority over me and it seems if you’re new to that team they like to make you feel like the odd one out. Also my manager told me not to contact her outside of work hours

Night fill - Changing of roster conditions

In recent months across multiple store locations the way shifts are rostered have changed. A few months ago the standard shifts were 5 hrs (7pm till Midnight) . Casual employees = 7.75 hrs base pay with penalty rates and and 25% casual loading. This also included a paid 15 tea break.Standard rostering procedures are now to roster 3.5 hr shifts finishing before 11pm to reduce the higher penalty rates and the need for a paid 15 minute meal. The outcome is your required to work 3 shifts to equal what two shifts would pay prior. Less then ideal when giving up Friday and Saturday evenings. The shorter 3.5 hr shift with no opportunity to rest makes employees feel fatigued and warn out as no break. The job itself is OK if you put your head down work. Other staff are polite however for the most part are struggling to makes ends meat due to increased cost of living and reduced take home pay. If your flexible and are available opportunities will likely arise to increase hours at short notice.

Pros

Classic Uni student work or 2nd job, good co workers and polite store managers

Cons

Not enough income to thrive only survive.

Fast-paced, stressful job with great co-workers

As a replenishment team member, we are expected to stock shelves at the CFC. Overall, its simple work made difficult by the sheer quantity that management expects one to do. Expect filling 50-70 cartons (boxes) every hour. Once you get the hang of it, its quite easy but it does get tiring after a couple hours. Pay is as expected, bare minimum, but management is flexible with hours and staff are great to be around.

Amazing company to work for and very family friendly

I have never worked for a company with more passion then Woolworths Young (1133) they are very family friendly and help in anyway that they can. They are very understanding and management is amazing.

Pros

Great wage and working environment

Not something to plan your life for.

(Nightfill)Went in thinking it would be a solid workplace from casual to permanent. Nearly 7 years later still casual with less hours a week than when i started. (Average 8ish hours a week) countless times asking to go permanent 5 days a week with constant excuses. Poor management that cant handle there bully of employees/bosses. Cant plan anything. One week one day the next 5 days. They only care for people that suck up and agree with everything to get anywhere there. You say you cant work a day and they put you on that day. You tell management you cant work a weekend a week advance and they forget and stuff the whole hours up for everyone else. They say casual pay covers your holidays but you cant plan holidays when your working minimum hours. Joke of a company.

Pros

Not really anything.

Cons

Everything.

Busy work place very productive

I found it great to work there even doing nights Most staff a good and helpful apart from the staff members that had been there for 10ir more years seemed to plot along and complain about the new staff and store procedures being changed..in general was great working there apart from Xmas time putting slot of good workers from full-time to casuals even when they were more productive than some of the long term staff members

Pros

Lots of free lunches happy environment

Cons

Can be long hrs and again they tend to look after older staff and let them get away with to much

Stressful

Terrible place to work. Management use you and abuse you. Management have no issues to take advantage off you and rip you off. Not a happy place to work at. Everyone dreads working there. Only work at woolies if you're desperate. Otherwise you'll end up hanging yourself or blowing your brains out for any other reasons to work there.

Pros

At least they pay you

Cons

Stress, getting ripped off.

Miss my Yeppoon woolies night fill crew. Great people to work with and no other woollies crew has been the same. Head down bum up, get the job done while still having fun

Night fill management

My night fill manager bullied and harassed me even after being confronted by senior management about my complaint after I confided in her about some personal issues happening

depends on who your boss is

I've worked with the company over 10 years. if you have a good store manager the culture is affected positively. A poor manager the culture goes downhill pretty quick.

Cons

rough management
