Great places to work as a Mum it’s flexible with the Family routines day in day out. Lots of opportunities to the right Candidates and cross store work opportunities which allows plenty of shifts available

Okay first job

Fast paced, slow career building if hand picked for positions. Long hours but various shift. Okay pay but sustainable. Workload large and ever growing

Overall a good experience and stepping stone

I have had an overall pleasant experience working for Woolworths. The department you work in highly impacts your experience, with some departments being better than others. Your direct line manager will also be highly dependent, as well as your store. Being such a large company it is hard to give a comprehensive review because every store, every manager operates differently. There is room for flexibility in the job, and job security once you can get a part-time contract. However, over the recent years the cost cutting is apparent, and some people struggle to get their desired number of hours

Fast paced environment

Great place for focus on career development if you want it. Fast paced environment. Workplace culture needs improvement as unrealistic expectations and toxic management can occur but can also be treated.

Terrible place for to work

No chance of career progression or full time employment no matter what the EBA says. Can be trusted to train other people to do a job you're not employed to do.

Great place to work

I started at Woolworths doing night fill when my kids were young, 10 years later and I had worked in a variety of departments, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Woolworths, I worked with a great group of people and I enjoyed the variety that the company had to offer.

Okay job

Good use of staff discount and easy enough job. Too much focus on scanning quickly and often understaffed. Good people to work with. Opportunities to develop career if you want to.

Good place

Fair payment as a casual worker and get paid weekly. You can work in different departments and learn more skills. They only hire if you're young. Good first job.

Managers suck coworkers suck

Horrible fired me out of nowhere no job security. Suspiciously fired me on the day my 6 month probation was up but not for performance related issues. Managers never recognized hard work and favoured some employees. There was no loyalty between employees and overall environment was cold.

Pretty neutral

The job itself was fine, they gave you basic training at the start but afterwards expect you to know everything right away, retail isn’t fun but they didn’t make it difficult, the pay is alright and employers were usually nice. Overall, wasn’t too bad

good work place

Culture is the environment that surrounds us all the time. A workplace culture is the shared values, belief systems, attitudes and the set of assumptions that people in a workplace share. This is shaped by individual upbringing, social and cultural context. In a workplace, however, the leadership and the strategic organizational directions and management influence the workplace culture to a huge extent. A positive workplace culture improves teamwork, raises the morale, increases productivity and efficiency, and enhances retention of the workforce. Job satisfaction, collaboration, and work performance are all enhanced. And, most importantly, a positive workplace environment reduces stress in employees.
