yeah it’s good as a start but don’t stay longer than like 4 years, you’re worth way more than that bullonline is pretty good (it all depends on DMs though really)

Decent workplace

Great place to work for a students or young adults, pay is alright if you are able to do weekends and late shifts. Poor communication from upper management but all and all it's an alright place to work.

Cons

upper management, not enough hours for all due to department budgets

Demanding job for minimum pay.

Demanding job for minimum pay, you are a cog in their machine and they do not care about you. There were employees there for over 20 years who were not particularly celebrated or thanked, and never received a pay rise other than what was mandated by the government.

Pros

Minimal breakroom snacks.

Cons

Long hours, bad break times, repetitive work leading to rsi

Hectic but fun

Good, I have had the pleasure of working at Woolworths for the past year, and it has been an incredibly positive experience. The work environment is friendly, inclusive, and team-oriented. The management team is supportive and encourages professional growth. The training process was thorough and ensured that I was well-equipped to handle my responsibilities. The company's emphasis on customer service and attention to detail truly sets it apart. The team members collaborate effectively, making it a great place to learn from each other.

Good to get your foot in the door, not much advancement though.

A typical day at work depends on the department but generally involves doing the same tasks as the day before with slight variation. Workplace culture is alright, also depends on which store you’re at - can be close like a family or toxic. Hardest part of the job is being abused by customers and the most enjoyable part is when you’re working with people you get along with.

Pros

lunch room usually has snacks in it

Cons

poor management, customer abuse, toxic work environment, low pay

great experience

Do not expect all employees to be friendly, but at least I have a very efficient team leader. Job is very physical and you need to make sure you manage your time well to complete all tasks.

Na

Hard work, but at least the pay is somewhat decent. Although you do often as a manager work well over your contracted hours, so I guess the higher pay rate takes that intoAccount.

Deliberately short staffed to raise profits

Under staffed, under paid and expected to do the work of three people, all so managers get their end of year bonuses. Carton rates are going to seriously injure someone one day.

Great place to work before RT3 was introduced

Woolworths was a great place to work before the introduction of RT3. If you were keen to work there was always a shift to pick up in a department. Since the introduction of RT3 you can pretty much expect only a 3-4 hour shift. With the bare minimum of people working according to the line. Depending on the store you work out management can be ok. Unless you get a store manager who doesn’t care and is over their head or a department manager who doesn’t care.

Pros

Discount card

Cons

Hours that aren’t enough for some people to live off. Management and RT3.

Great in-between job and mostly flexible

It’s a good place as your first job but not as a career they are flexible with hours. The people you work with will mostly be amazing but upper management aren’t great they don’t care to much about you.

Pros

Flexible

Cons

Expect you to be able to do more than one persons worth of work

Good workplace

Good work life balance. Flexible shifts although sometimes management can pressure you to reduce your contract when running low on budget and all. Other than that, its good.

A secure job

Worked here for over 11 years and felt valued as a worker in my time there. Was given part time contract as were nearly all staff but that has probably changed now (I left in 2019). Cons in hindsight that I didn't realize at the time as I had no other job to compare it to are the fairly low hourly rate, and I worked really hard as well so it's a bit regretful to realise now I could've made much more money doing far less work instead for ten years.

Woolies

Great place for a first job or a career, money is decent considering you don't require higher education. Hours and wages have been trimmed a lot over the years and there's no room for any slack

Productive and fun

Woolworths is a great company to work in. It is fun and very productive place. Colleagues are helpful and kind to provide assistance when needed. I worked as a casual worker
