  • The simulation tests are really unrealistic, and too busy. No tram driver anywhere would have to do as much as they test you for, in an entire year, let alone in a 15 minute test. Multi tasking is one test, and anyone in control of a vehicle knows, you do not multitask... you drive/operate the vehicle and focus on that, so you can do your job properly without incident, or an accident. The reaction test was also unrealistic. I doubt any currently employed tram driver could pass that test. I was disappointed with this process, because I'm an excellent driver, know all the road rules, and passed all necessary checks. I've over 12 years experience in customer service, and a positive attitude to working 7 days per week. I missed out when it came to these tests, so felt that their employment process, especially the tests, need urgent review. Worthy candidates are missing out on an excellent career, and Yarra Trams are missing out on excellent employees.
