Since 1966, we've been a global benchmark in the production of generators and warehouse material handling equipment. The Opportunity

We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused Electrical Trade Assistant or Electrical Apprentice to join our workshop and service team in Minto. You'll support the assembly, pre-delivery preparation, testing, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of generators, lighting towers, control systems and associated power equipment — working alongside experienced, licensed electricians and technicians.

Whether you're an experienced Trade Assistant or ready to start (or continue) a formal NSW electrical apprenticeship, we'll match the role — and your pay — to your experience and current status. Formal qualifications aren't mandatory — we're looking for the right attitude, aptitude and safety mindset.

Note: We're currently looking for apprentices in their 1st to 3rd year.

What's on Offer
  • Apprentices (1st–3rd year): $35 – $43 per hour

  • Experienced Trade Assistants: up to $50 per hour, depending on background

  • Hands-on experience with industrial generators, control systems and related power equipment

  • Practical coaching and mentoring from experienced electricians and service technicians

  • A safety-focused team environment with genuine opportunities to build technical capability and progress

  • A supported pathway for candidates entering or continuing a formal electrical apprenticeship

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed electricians and technicians with electrical and mechanical assembly, wiring and service activities

  • Route, identify and secure cables and harnesses, and fit batteries, connectors and protection devices as instructed

  • Support pre-delivery inspections, functional checks, testing, commissioning and basic fault-finding under supervision

  • Read and follow electrical drawings, schematics and work instructions appropriate to your level

  • Prepare generators and equipment for dispatch, including accessory fit-ups and documentation

  • Follow WHS requirements, safe work procedures, isolation controls and PPE requirements at all times

  • Complete job records, time sheets and, where applicable, apprenticeship logbooks and competency records

  • Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, organised workshop

What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • Genuine interest in electrical systems, industrial power equipment and developing practical trade skills

  • Strong safety awareness, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions and work well in a team

  • Mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools safely

  • Sound literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills for drawings, measurements and job documentation

  • Ability to safely lift up to 20kg and perform practical workshop duties

  • No formal qualifications required — we'll assess based on attitude, aptitude and relevant experience

  • Reliable transport to Minto; a driver's licence, Construction White Card or forklift licence are advantageous but not essential

Why Join Us?

At Pramac, we don't just build products; we build careers. If you're ready to get hands-on and build a genuine trade career in power generation, we want to hear from you.
