Full job description

eShepherd technology is proven. Customer demand is growing. Now we’re looking for a commercial leader who can turn that demand into global growth.

As Head of Sales – eShepherd at Gallagher, you’ll play a defining role in the next chapter of eShepherd – shaping the strategy, relationships and commercial capability to put our technology in the hands of more farmers around the world.

Backed by Gallagher’s 85-year legacy of innovation, eShepherd is transforming livestock management through world-leading virtual fencing technology. Combining hardware, software and real-time data insights, we’re helping farmers to improve productivity, sustainability and unlock operational efficiencies.

Today, eShepherd is being used in more than 10 countries worldwide. With strong customer bases and growing momentum across Australia, New Zealand and North America, we’re entering our next phase of global expansion.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional Head of Sales role. It’s an opportunity to build on strong foundations and shape the next phase of eShepherd’s global commercial growth.

As a member of the eShepherd Leadership Team, you’ll lead global sales function, accelerating revenue growth, expanding our market presence and building a high-performing commercial organisation capable of scaling internationally.

Just as importantly, you’ll keep us connected to the people at the heart of our business – farmers.

You’ll know how to build credibility with producers and turn conversations in the paddock into insights that shape our commercial approach. Whether you already bring strong agricultural networks or have a proven ability to build them, you’ll understand that successful AgTech adoption starts with the customer.

Working closely with Marketing, Product, Strategic Partnerships and the broader Gallagher Animal Management business, you’ll help make it easier for more farmers to discover, adopt and realise value from eShepherd.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll own eShepherd’s global sales strategy and growth agenda, turning market opportunity into sustainable revenue and increasing adoption across existing and emerging markets.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Driving sustainable revenue growth and customer adoption across international markets.

  • Leading, developing and scaling high-performing sales and customer success teams.

  • Building a scalable, repeatable sales model and strengthening forecasting, pipeline management and conversion.

  • Developing routes to market and identifying the right channels, partners and approaches to reach more farmers.

  • Identifying new markets, customer segments and growth opportunities while maximising existing markets.

  • Staying close to farmers and using customer and market insights to influence commercial strategy.

  • Building trusted relationships with customers, channel partners and influential industry stakeholders.

  • Creating strong alignment across Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product and Strategic Partnerships.

  • Developing future commercial leaders and contributing to eShepherd’s strategic direction as part of the Leadership Team.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an accomplished commercial leader with a strong track record of growing revenue, building sales capability and creating the structure and momentum needed to scale a business.

You’ll combine strategic thinking with a willingness to stay close to customers. You’ll also understand that selling technology into agriculture takes more than a great product. It takes credibility, relationships and a genuine understanding of the people who will use it.

You’ll bring:

  • A proven track record of significant revenue growth and market expansion across many markets.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing sales or commercial teams.

  • Strong strategic and operational capability, building strategy and translating it into execution.

  • Experience developing sales channels, routes to market and customer acquisition strategies.

  • Experience working across multiple regions or international markets.

  • Agricultural networks, experience selling to producers, or demonstrated ability to build credibility within farming communities.

  • Strong customer focus, influencing skills and cross-functional leadership capability.

Experience within AgTech, SaaS, IoT, hardware-enabled software or other technology-led industries will be highly regarded. Experience taking innovative technology from early adoption to broader commercial scale would be particularly valuable.

Why eShepherd?

The opportunity is already here. Your role is to help us realise its potential.

You get the best of both worlds: the pace and ambition of a global growth business, backed by Gallagher’s proven technology, capability and more than 85 years of agricultural innovation.

You’ll have genuine ownership and influence over eShepherd’s global sales strategy, a seat at the Leadership Team table and the opportunity to shape a commercial function ready for its next phase of growth.

You’ll work across Australia, New Zealand, North America and beyond, connecting directly with farmers, industry partners and teams bringing innovative technology to agriculture.

Most importantly, you’ll have the chance to help scale technology that is solving real challenges for farmers and changing how livestock can be managed.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled before the closing date.
