Impressions

What it means

The number of times your job posting appears in Indeed search results.

How to improve

  • Use clear and accurate job titles
  • Add relevant keywords job seekers search for
  • Set the right hiring budget for your role

Clicks and click-through rate (CTR)

Clicks

The number of times job seekers click your job ad.

CTR

Clicks divided by impressions. This shows how strong your job ad performance is in search results.

How to improve

  • Use simple and specific job titles
  • Avoid jargon or internal terms
  • Add the pay range when possible
  • Share the schedule and location early in the job description
  • Make the first 2–3 lines easy to scan and understand

Cost per click (CPC)

What it means

How much you pay each time someone clicks your sponsored job.

How to improve

  • Set your job advertising budget based on market competition

Applies

What it means

The number of job applications submitted for your job posting.

How to improve

  • Keep the application process short
  • Use Indeed Apply to make applying faster and easier

Cost per apply (CPA)

What it means

The average cost for each completed application.

CPA may not be available for all employers, regions or contract types. If you don’t see CPA, use average CPC and conversion rate to understand performance.

  • Adjust your budget to meet your hiring goals
  • Focus on improving clicks and applications to increase efficiency
