Scheduling Interviews on Indeed
Indeed makes it easy to interview candidates. You can message them, manage your schedule and take notes after each interview. This article shows you how to set up and manage interviews on Indeed.
Setting up an interview
After you post a job and get applications, you can start scheduling interviews. Here's how:
- Sign in to your employer account.
- Go to the Candidates tab.
- Click or tap the three dots next to the candidate's name, then select Set up interview.
- Set the following:
- Duration
- Format
- Add hiring team members (optional)
- Enable text reminders (optional)
- Select a specific time
- Click or tap Send interview request.
Receiving confirmation from the candidate
- The candidate will be asked to confirm after they get the invite.
- When they confirm, you'll get an email with a calendar invite file (.ics). You can sync this with your calendar.
- If you set up a video interview, you'll get a video link once it's confirmed.
Viewing and editing your interviews
Navigate to the Interviews tab to check all your interviews. From this page, you can:
- Join
- Reschedule
- Cancel
- Add team member(s)
- Take notes
Post-interview actions
After the interview, you can:
- Schedule a follow-up interview
- Add notes (these won't be shared with the candidate)
- Send a message to the candidate
Troubleshooting
Issue: The candidate hasn't confirmed the interview.
Solution: Select the Candidates tab and send them a follow-up message. You can also reschedule or pick a new time from the Interviews tab.
Issue: I didn't get a calendar invite file (.ics) after confirmation.
Solution: Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, check the Interviews tab to find your interview details. You can add the event to your calendar from there.
Issue: I set up a video interview, but didn't get a video link.
Solution: Video links are sent once the candidate confirms. If the interview is confirmed and you still don't have a link, navigate to the Interviews tab and check the details. The video link is visible there, even if you can't find the original email. You can join directly from that page.
