Non-Work Opportunities
Indeed is a job site. All posts must be for real, paid jobs. Posts that offer unpaid work, fake openings, unpaid internships or other non-job content are not allowed. We may remove or hide posts that could confuse job seekers or break these rules.
This policy is global, but some markets have different rules for certain types of jobs.
Posting requirements
Post real and accurate jobs
- Don't post jobs that aren't legitimate, such as:
- Ads for services or products
- Test posts
- Business opportunities
- Posts with nonsense words
Avoid candidate pooling
- Don't post fake jobs to collect resumes for a database (also called a 'bait-and-switch') as they can be misleading to job seekers
- Examples include jobs labelled ' talent bank' or 'general application.'
Don't post passive income opportunities
- 'Passive income' posts are for activities that are not actual jobs. This could mean getting paid for little to no work or growing your own streaming channel.
- Examples are:
- One-off surveys or participation in medical trials
- Growing your own social media account where your pay depends entirely on views or viewer gifts.
Make sure jobs are paid
- All jobs must pay money for work completed.
- This includes any training or trial periods.
- We don't allow jobs that offer only 'experience' or 'exposure.'
Unpaid internships
All internships on Indeed must be:
- Paid
- Listed as 'internship' in the title
Misleading job titles or descriptions
Don't use:
- Vague or misleading job titles
- Descriptions that don't match an actual, available job opening
Unpaid trial periods
We don't allow unpaid trial shifts
Volunteer roles
- We only allow true volunteer roles at not-for-profit organisations.
- The job title must say 'volunteer.'
- We don't allow volunteer roles at for-profit companies.
Next steps
If we removed or hid your job post:
- Review your post considering the guidelines above.
- Update the listing, making necessary changes.
- Contact Indeed support if you believe we removed your post by mistake.
Note: In Japan (JP), jobs from recruiters and job boards cannot mention sign-on bonuses.
