## Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and analytical Industrial Engineer to join our team and drive operational excellence across our facilities. In this role, you will assess and optimise the use of personnel, equipment, materials, and processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, sound commercial awareness, and a collaborative mindset suited to working across diverse operational environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional who thrives on identifying practical improvements and implementing data-informed solutions.

## Key Responsibilities

- Analyse organisational structures, functional statements, and project documentation to clearly define worker roles, responsibilities, and areas of operational overlap or duplication
- Design and implement work measurement programmes, collecting and evaluating work samples to establish reliable standards for labour utilisation and productivity benchmarking
- Review workforce deployment, facility layouts, production schedules, and cost data to determine optimum efficiencies across people, equipment, and processes
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within existing workflows and recommend evidence-based improvements aligned with business objectives
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and workflow models to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and contribute to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to reduce waste and increase throughput
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, logistics, maintenance, and finance to design and implement engineering solutions
- Conduct time-and-motion studies, capacity analyses, and cost-benefit assessments to support strategic decision-making and resource planning
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented changes, using key metrics to measure outcomes and adjust approaches where necessary
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, findings, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders
- Support the design and optimisation of facility layouts to maximise space utilisation, safety, and operational flow
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate data on operational costs, labour requirements, and process efficiencies

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in an industrial engineering or process improvement role within a commercial, industrial, or production environment
- Strong proficiency in work study methodologies, including time-and-motion analysis and labour utilisation modelling
- Solid understanding of lean principles, process mapping, and continuous improvement frameworks
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience using engineering and analytical software tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, or similar platforms
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or production management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail, with a structured and methodical approach to analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver outcomes within defined timeframes
- Knowledge of relevant Australian workplace health and safety legislation and standards

## Preferred Qualifications

- Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or equivalent process improvement methodology
- Experience working within a large-scale manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operation
- Familiarity with simulation software such as Arena, AnyLogic, or similar modelling tools
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and their application to operational improvement
- Membership with Engineers Australia or another relevant professional body

## Why Join Us?

- Be part of a forward-thinking organisation that invests in continuous improvement and values the contribution of its engineering professionals
- Access ongoing professional development opportunities, including support for further study, certifications, and industry memberships
- Enjoy a flexible and supportive workplace culture that prioritises work-life balance and employee wellbeing
