Assistant Managers – This is a Part Time - Volunteer Role

Bardon Scout Group is seeking females or males adults willing to commitment to volunteer roles as assistant group leaders ( 2 x required ) to undertake part time training as Assistant Group Leaders to assist with the management of Bardon Scout Group for a minimum period of three years. No previous experience is required.

In return for this service of adult leadership within Scouts Australia you will be supported in obtaining nationally recognised Diploma in Leadership and Management. VALUED BETWEEN $2000 to $4000, AT NO COST TO YOU. You will gain experience and learn skills in;

  • Customer Service
  • Leadership & Management
  • Communications & Marketing
  • Learning and Development
  • Facility & Asset Management
  • Financial Management
  • Health & Safety Management

Uniform, training and event registration costs and expenses will be provided. This is a significant personal cost saving and a stepping stone to a career in leadership and management and understanding how to run a small business.

Assistant Group Leaders will be required to;

  • Undergo a standard police check to ensure the safety of our young members.
  • Commitment to the Aims and Principles of the Scouts Association of Australia
  • Commit to attending regular meetings one night per week for ten weeks during a school term for a minimum of three years.
  • Wear the appropriate uniform set down by Scouts Australia when required
  • Commit to a monthly Leaders’ meeting, and four weekends a year for outdoor events and activities such as hiking and camping trips.
  • Undertake the pre-requisite on line e-Learning modules prior to formal training.
  • Attend some formal training courses run by Scouts Qld (minimum of six weekends over two years)
  • Support all aspects of Scouting, youth leadership, programming and safety.
  • Be prepared to be a motivated individual with a commitment to providing varied, exciting and dynamic programs for our Scout Group
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence
  • Commit to Assistant Group Leader position description (dated – Jan 2017)
