Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research using a variety of sources such as statutes, regulations, case law, and legal articles, particularly those relating to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Analyse and evaluate the gathered information to identify relevant case laws, precedents, and statutes.
  • Prepare detailed reports, letters and memos summarising research findings and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, as required, to support case preparation and strategy, particularly for AAT hearings.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the company's focus areas (NDIS).
  • Assist in drafting legal documents and other materials as required.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of research materials and sources in the company’s online filing system.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Researcher and Report Writer to join our Legal Department and Report Writing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth legal research, analysing findings, and preparing comprehensive letters and reports (including company templates to send to the NDIS for clients) on various legal and medical issues. The ideal candidate will also be required to review company legal documentation, including various contracts, and summarising and advising Full Life on these. This role requires a strong understanding of legal terminology, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working as a legal researcher or in a similar role, such as a paralegal or other legal assistance role.
  • Strong understanding of legal research methodologies and databases.
  • Proficient in using legal research tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
