Community Programs Officer - Nepean / Hawkesbury Region
Digital Literacy Foundation
Permanent Part-Time | Up to 32 hours per week | Flexible Remote Work + Local Travel
Are you passionate about connection, community and inclusion? Join the Digital Literacy Foundation and help bridge the digital divide for people who need it most.
About Us
The Digital Literacy Foundation (DLF) is a not-for-profit organisation working to create a digitally inclusive society - where no one is left behind.
Since 2015, we’ve supported older Australians, people with disability, and culturally diverse communities to build the confidence and skills they need to thrive in a digital world. Through our one-on-one mentoring program, community events and partnerships, we empower people to safely and confidently engage online.
The Role
We’re looking for a Community Programs Officer based in the Nepean / Hawkesbury region to play a hands-on role in our outreach programs and community events.
You’ll be the friendly face of DLF at local hubs, libraries and partner sites - supporting learners, volunteers and community partners, and ensuring every interaction is positive, empowering and inclusive.
This is a permanent part-time role (up to 32 hours per week), perfect for someone who enjoys variety, purpose and people.
You will:
- Attend and support regular community events across Penrith, Windsor, Richmond, St Albans, and other local hubs.
- Welcome new Learners, capture their details, and register them in our CRM.
- Coordinate and support volunteers (our wonderful Tech Mates).
- Follow up with Learners, confirm attendance, and provide friendly reminders.
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to the team.
- Help make every event run smoothly.
About You
This targeted position is open to mature female candidates living in the Nepean / Hawkesbury region. It’s ideal for someone with a background in community work, social care, education, or health - and a genuine passion for helping people.
You’ll be:
- Empathetic, patient and confident engaging with older adults and vulnerable people.
- Organised, proactive and tech-savvy (comfortable using iPads, Teams, databases, etc.).
- A great communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
- A team player who enjoys community-based work and can juggle multiple priorities.
- Flexible and reliable - ready to roll up your sleeves at events and help where needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a client-facing or community-focused role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable working remotely and travelling to local events.
- Current driver’s licence (desirable).
- Commitment to DLF’s mission of digital and social inclusion.
Working at Digital Literacy Foundation
- Fully remote work with regular community visits.
- $100 quarterly Remote Working Allowance.
- Equipment and ergonomic setup provided.
- Regular training, support, and professional development.
- Friendly, values-driven team that cares about inclusion and growth.
- Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
At DLF, we celebrate diversity and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse applicants, and LGBTQIA+ people.
How to Apply
If this sounds like you, apply now. Send your resume and a short cover letter outlining your interest in this role and your connection to the Nepean / Hawkesbury community.
Be part of a growing organisation making a tangible difference in people’s lives, one connection at a time.
