About The Role:

The opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Track Machine Operator to join our WA Rail Surfacing team. This role will primarily be based in Southern WA and operate in a Drive-In Drive-Out capacity depending on project location.

Rosters are predominantly 14 days on 7 days off but are subject to change depending on client requirements and may also include night shift work for certain work scopes. Primary project locations include the South-West, Wheat-Belt and Goldfields-Esperance freight networks and the Perth urban passenger network.

Point of Hire is Perth.

About You:

  • Applicants must be able to complete a pre-employment Rail CAT 1 Medical
  • Construction Induction Card.
  • Strong understanding and focus for safety.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training in the operation of rail resurfacing equipment primarily ballast regulators and tampers.
  • Develop network safe-working skills through training and on the job implementation of safeworking forms and systems.
  • Participate in additional training and upskilling opportunities including modules towards a Cert II qualification in Rail Infrastructure as part of your development in the role

Desierable Attributes

  • Prior work experience in the rail corridor.
  • Previous construction machinery operation experience desirable but not essential.
  • MR vehicle licence.
  • 4wd driver training.
