ZERO is Australia’s flagship paediatric precision medicine program, transforming cancer care for children and young people. As our Genetic Pathologist you will provide clinical oversight and pathology governance for the ZERO Diagnostics laboratory, serving as the NPAAC Designated Person for genomic diagnostic testing. The role is central to achieving and maintaining NATA accreditation under ISO 15189:2022 for the ZERO multi-omic testing service.

To succeed you will…

  • Be a current medical practitioner with specialist registration with AHPRA.
  • Have a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) in Genetic Pathology, or equivalent specialist qualification. Applicants expecting Fellowship within six months of advertising close are eligible to apply.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in genomic variant interpretation, with experience in diagnostic or clinical reporting workflows.
  • Have working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Have knowledge of NPAAC standards and NATA accreditation requirements for Category GX laboratories
