About the role
The Library Courier plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Glen Eira Libraries services by providing a reliable, efficient and customer-focused courier service across library branches, service points and Council locations.
Working independently, the role ensures the timely and safe distribution of library materials and resources, supports the Home Library Service, and contributes to service continuity and community access across the library network.
Other responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and complete the collection, delivery and distribution of library materials across library branches, service points and Council locations.
- Support the Home Library Service by delivering materials to customers and reporting any customer wellbeing or access concerns.
- Provide professional customer service, resolve routine enquiries and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Maintain vehicle safety and compliance practices, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
About you
You are a reliable, customer-focused professional who enjoys working independently and delivering high-quality service to the community.
You bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a commitment to safety in a dynamic operational environment.
The following is also required:
- Current Victorian Driver Licence with a safe driving record and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Experience in a delivery, courier or logistics role, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with diverse community members.
- Good computer literacy, including experience using technology systems and identifying opportunities for service improvement.

Hours and Days of Work
The role is part-time with 105 hours worked over a 4-week period.
Week 1: 7.45am – 3.45pm Monday – Thursday, 11am – 2pm Sunday
Week 2: 7.45am – 3.45pm Monday – Thursday, 11am – 2pm Sunday
Week 3: 7.45am – 10.45am Monday – Thursday, 11am – 2pm Sunday
Week 4: 7.45am – 3.45pm Monday – Thursday, 11am – 2pm Sunday
