Let's Talk About the Role and Responsibilities
The role involves developing and maintaining backend application logic, primarily using Python, React and Node.js. A strong emphasis is placed on ensuring plaform reliability, redundancy, security and compliance with both internal standards and regulatory requirements.
The position also includes optimizing and administering databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. In addition, it requires implementing monitoring, logging and alerting systems to enable proactive fault management and maintain overall system health.
You will be key in troubleshooting complex, cross-domain issues spanning networks, applications, databases and operating systems, while providing Tier-3 support to the operations teams. You will also support the development of Tier 1 and 2 teams through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
Documentation is another critical aspect, involving the preparation, maintenance and continuous updating of operations, architecture, and design materials. You will be across planning and executing platform upgrades, migrations, scaling efforts, and capacity improvements to support growth and performance.
Collaboration is essential, as the role will see you work closely with the IP network engineering, security, product and infrastructure teams to enhance customer experience and improve overall service delivery.
Experience required for the role
- Minimum of 5 years experience in large-scale ISP environments
- Advanced coding in Python and GoLang
- Strong scripting/development in React and NodeJS
- Exposure to containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience integrating with REST APIs, XML/JSON Services
- Bash scripting and automation skills
- Production-grade experience with Postgre-SQL and MySQL
- Working knowledge of MongoDB
- Backup, replication, indexing, data integrity, performance tuning
- Expert knowledge of RADIUS with strong understanding of DHCP and DNS
- Solid expertise with Linux Server administration (RHEL)
- Monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, ELK/Splunk)
- Excellent communication for cross-team collaboration and mentorship
- Passion for automation, reliability engineering and continuous improvement
