Found in 1998 in the heart of Sydney, Australia, MindChamps International Preschool & Early Learning (“MindChamps”) is a pathbreaking Preschool and early childhood education with 86 centres operating globally in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar.

As we grow, we are seeking 2 x experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader for our Nursery & Toddler room to join our close-knit and supportive team in Hurstville, NSW.

As a Room Leader, your core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Responsible for room management, including the children, curriculum, staff, safety and environment.
  • Ensure a high-quality Service is consistently maintained in all areas and aspects of the Service.
  • Ensure an inclusive environment is developed for all children, regardless of race, abilities, beliefs and values. The environment will foster children’s safety, security, and positive relationships, and be challenging, warm and caring.
  • Build positive trusting, two-way relationships with parents.
  • Act as a positive role model, be an active team member, conveying respect and guidance to another colleague.
  • Ensure that curriculums, reflections and learning stories are of high quality and sound in structure and implementation.
  • Lead and manage their team within the classroom; to ensure that educators are trained and understanding of their roles and responsibilities and to report any negligence regarding substandard work.
  • Ensure Duty of Care is upheld at all times, and with Educators within the classroom.
  • Be a mandatory reporter.
  • Ensure the Director is informed of any problem that would affect the children, service approval or rating, regulatory and legal compliance or the smooth running of the service.

What we are looking for

  • A completed Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Current/Valid Working With Children’s Check (WWCC) and relevant First Aid Certificates
  • Previous working experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • The desire to make a positive contribution to a professional, collaborative and focused team
  • A love for children and a desire to make childcare a long-term career
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high-quality care
