Pause Button Cafe is looking for a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Coomera, QLD.

We are a new cafe focused on quality brunch, creative dishes, consistent service, and a positive team culture. We are looking for someone who can support the kitchen team during service, assist with prep, maintain food quality, and help keep the kitchen organised and efficient.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef and kitchen team during daily service
• Prepare and cook menu items to a consistent standard
• Assist with prep lists, stock rotation, ordering, and kitchen organisation
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards
• Help train and support junior kitchen staff
• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house team
• Contribute ideas for menu improvements and kitchen systems

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, or strong cafe chef
• Experience in cafe, brunch, or fast-paced kitchen environments preferred
• Strong understanding of food preparation, plating, and service flow
• Reliable, organised, and able to work well under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to grow with the business
• Availability for early morning starts and weekend shifts
