Your next career opportunity
In this role, you will lead analyses of the landmark TRANSform cohort and related trans health studies. You will translate complex data into impactful publications, reports and resources that inform care, policy and community wellbeing.
What you will deliver:
-
Lead analysis and interpretation of TRANSform cohort data, producing high-quality peer-reviewed manuscripts, reports and presentations.
-
Coordinate research governance activities, including ethics submissions, amendments, reporting obligations and clinical trial registrations where required.
-
Manage research operations, including data collection, database management, data cleaning and rigorous quantitative or qualitative analyses.
-
Collaborate with investigators, community partners and institutional stakeholders, contributing to meetings, coordination and research translation activities.
-
Provide mentorship and guidance to research assistants, students and volunteers, supporting their development and project contributions.
You may be a great fit if you:

Hold a PhD or equivalent research degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics or a related biomedical discipline.
-
Demonstrate a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, including leading first-author manuscripts from analysis to submission.
-
Bring advanced skills in quantitative or qualitative data analysis and confidently use relevant statistical or qualitative software.
-
Excel at coordinating multiple research outputs, governance processes and deadlines within collaborative, multidisciplinary research teams.
-
Demonstrate strong scientific writing, communication and project management skills, with meticulous attention to data integrity and ethics.
-
Value inclusive, community-engaged research and bring experience working with trans and gender diverse communities or lived expertise .

Your new team
You will join the Trans Health Research Group, a multidisciplinary team within the Department of Medicine , Austin Health . The group leads nationally significant research on gender-affirming care, mental health, wellbeing and healthcare delivery for trans communities. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, statisticians, community partners and policy stakeholders across Austin and Royal Melbourne hospitals. The environment is supportive, research-intensive and strongly values inclusion, lived experience and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
