T & AR Tropiano Farms
Location: Mullewa, Western Australia
Full-Time

T & AR Tropiano is a family partnership which operates an 8,000-ha farm located in Mullewa, WA. Our production is focused on wheat (grain) and sheep (meat and wool). Our aim is to create a safe and enjoyable working environment for our team member through training and regular communication.

We are seeking a Senior Broadacre Farmhand (full-time position) who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our 8,000-ha farm. The job duties of this position include:
1. Crop Management:
a. Assisting in the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of grain crops.
b. Monitoring crop health and applying pesticides and fertilizers as needed.
2. Machinery Operations:
a. Operating and maintaining farm machinery such as tractors, combine harvesters, and planters.
b. Performing repairs and adjustments on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
3. Supervision:
a. Leading and supervising junior farmhands and seasonal workers.
b. Training new staff and ensuring that farm practices meet safety standards.
4. General Farm Maintenance:
a. Repairing fences, buildings, and other farm structures.
b. Assisting with general farm upkeep and cleanliness.
5. Safety Compliance:
a. Implementing and monitoring safety protocols to prevent accidents.
b. Ensuring compliance with agricultural regulations and standards.
6. Sheep Handling:
a. Must have the ability to handle stock with regards to the farming practices which include checking water troughs, drafting and moving the sheep to different paddocks as needed.

Applicants must have the following skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience operating agricultural machinery especially during seeding and harvesting seasons and have the ability to work 40 hours per week, plus reasonable and necessary overtime.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and modern farming practices.
  • Previous skills assisting with the care and maintenance of livestock (sheep).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • A commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Driver’s licence is essential.
  • Salary: Starting salary of $80,000 + superannuation pa, dependent on experience. Package includes accommodation.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per hour
