SunPork have an incredible opportunity open for multiple people to join us as Piggery Attendants at one of our farms based near Echuca, VIC.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the purpose of this role is to be a key player in keeping our pigs healthy, happy and well cared for.

About the Role

This opportunity is responsible for the below:

  • Ensure top notch animal welfare - clean, safe and healthy environments are key!

  • Cleaning and maintaining pens and equipment - a tidy farm is a happy farm!

  • Routine animal care - moving, drafting, weighing and handling stock with care

  • Providing medical care - supporting sick or injured animals as needed

  • Update records and complete general farm duties as required


About You

Our ideal candidates will have the below experience/skills:

  • Animal experience? Great! But not essential - we'll train you!

  • A strong commitment to animal welfare and biosecurity

  • A positive can-do attitude that fits our core values - trust, integrity, quality, efficiency and innovation

  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays when needed

  • Physical fitness to handle farm duties

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in pig husbandry and welfare management
  • Strong understanding of piggery operations and production processes
  • Ability to effectively supervise and lead a team of stockpersons
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in data recording, analysis, and reporting related to piggery performance
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations in agricultural environments
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required in a farming environment
