Position: Sushi Maker

About Us:
Okami is a well-known and rapidly expanding Australian restaurant chain, with numerous locations, specializing in high-quality Japanese cuisine and exceptional dining experiences. Our team is vibrant, passionate, and experienced, and we are committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of excellence.
Kitchen Operations:

  • Assist the head chef and team with daily ingredient preparation and cooking to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and present sushi, ensuring it meets high-quality standards.
  • Prepare other Japanese dishes as required, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.

Hygiene and Safety:

  • Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and tidy, following food safety procedures.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operation and seamless service.
  • Assist the head chef with other cooking tasks and preparations as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Food Safety Certificate is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Cook or Sushi Chef in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Strong knife skills and ingredient handling abilities, particularly in sushi preparation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and good time management skills.
