Restaurant All-Rounder – Kitchen & Front of House
Nichi Getsu Do | Sydney CBD

Nichi Getsu Do is a Japanese ramen restaurant originating from Saitama, Japan. Our Kent Street restaurant is the first Nichi Getsu Do location in Australia.

We are looking for reliable and motivated team members to join our small, multicultural team in Sydney CBD.

Our workplace culture is strongly influenced by Japanese hospitality and working standards. We value attention to detail, cleanliness, reliability, consideration for others and taking pride in doing things properly. Japanese language ability is not required, but an interest in Japanese food and culture is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food preparation and general kitchen duties
  • Cooking and plating ramen and side dishes
  • Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
  • Taking orders and processing payments
  • Serving customers and clearing tables
  • Supporting both kitchen and front-of-house during busy service periods

This is an all-rounder role, so we are looking for people who are comfortable helping wherever needed.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to work in a busy hospitality environment
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Genuine interest in Japanese food or hospitality
  • Functional English communication
  • NSW RSA required for front-of-house duties, or willingness to obtain one
  • Valid Australian working rights

Hours

Typical shifts:

  • Lunch: approximately 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
  • Dinner: approximately 4:30 pm – 11:00 pm
  • Around 3–4 days per week

Consistent weekly availability is preferred.

Pay & Conditions

Pay is in accordance with the Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119), starting at no lower than Level 2.

Rates vary depending on casual or part-time employment, experience and skill level.

Superannuation and applicable Award entitlements are paid in addition.
