Full job description

Chilli n Chive Thai Restaurant is a well-established Thai restaurant located in Beaconsfield, known for authentic Thai flavours, fresh ingredients, and excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join our team and help maintain the high quality of our dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
  • Plan and contribute to menu development, including seasonal specials
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation
  • Manage food preparation during busy service periods
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
  • Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff when required

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in Thai cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations

Qualifications Relevant:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience preferred

Food Safety Certificate is an advantage

Working Hours:

Full-time or Part - time position available

Must be available to work evenings from Thursday to Saturday
