Full job description
Chilli n Chive Thai Restaurant is a well-established Thai restaurant located in Beaconsfield, known for authentic Thai flavours, fresh ingredients, and excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join our team and help maintain the high quality of our dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
Plan and contribute to menu development, including seasonal specials
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation
Manage food preparation during busy service periods
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation (FIFO)
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
Train and supervise kitchen staff when required
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in Thai cuisine
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Good organisational and time management skills
Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations
Qualifications Relevant:
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience preferred
Food Safety Certificate is an advantage
Working Hours:
Full-time position
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
