About the role

Working as part of the Community Forensic Outreach Service (CFOS), you will provide targeted, formulation-led therapy to individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges where there is a heightened risk of harm to themselves or others. Your work will focus on understanding and addressing the drivers of high-risk behaviours through structured, evidence-informed approaches. Beyond direct clinical care, you will act as a specialist resource to multidisciplinary teams, offering consultation, guidance, and practical strategies to support effective risk management and improve consumer outcomes.

About you

Contribute to assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and delivery of targeted psychological and psychosocial problem behaviour interventions for eligible consumers of public mental health services.
Deliver contemporary high level clinical therapy services based on valid and reliable evidence, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with a high degree of independence, to ensure patient focused outcomes.
Utilise high level communication and negotiation skills with staff, consumers, carers/family members, supervisors, students, researchers, Non-Government, government and Private sector health and support service providers and other stakeholders to support comprehensive and individualised service delivery outcomes for consumers across the broader mental health service.
Maintain written case notes and prepare written therapy progress and exit reports and contribute to overall evaluation of service outcomes.
Provide clinical leadership and participate in the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of quality, service improvement and/or research activities that enhance the delivery of forensic intervention services, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care, improve consumer care and contribute to the development of the multidisciplinary team.
