Full job description
When you join MercyCare, you become part of something bigger than a job. You join a community of people who show up for Western Australians at the moments that matter most - from early learning and disability support, to family, community and aged care services. We live by our values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice, excellence and courage, and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.
About the role
Bring your creativity, care and enthusiasm where you will make a meaningful difference in children's lives while continuing to develop your skills and experience. As a casual Diploma Educator, you'll help create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can learn through play, build confidence and thrive. As a Trainee Educator, you'll work 15 hours per week where you will gain hands-on experience while working towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, supported by our experienced team.
About you
You'll be warm, caring and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for helping children learn and thrive. You'll enjoy being part of a team, building strong relationships and creating experiences that encourage children's curiosity. Your key experience will include:
- Qualification if applicable
- A desire to support and encourage the learning and development of children
- An understanding of child development and how children learn through play and meaningful experiences
- Ability to create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments
- A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to learn and grow
- Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their safety and wellbeing
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid certification
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
About the benefits
You'll become part of an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming Western Australian organisation passionately committed to making a meaningful impact in the local community. Our MercyCare Promise is focused on ensuring our people are connected and empowered to make a positive difference in the heart of our communities. As a valued team member, you’ll also enjoy access to:
- Not for profit Salary Packaging options up to $18,000!
- Childcare discounts for your little ones
- Options to purchase additional leave
- Career Pathways, Professional Development and Training
- Comprehensive Wellbeing Program including discounted health insurance and free flu vaccinations
