We are looking for experienced Cook to join our restaurant in Kogarah NSW 2283 . If you have a passion for a cooking exceptional food and interested to enhance your skills, then you are fit for this job. The successful candidate will be working in the kitchen with our team and will oversee overall food preparations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect food ingredients and supplies to ensure they meet quality, freshness, and food safety standards before preparation.
  • Operate, monitor, and regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to ensure food is cooked safely and consistently.
  • Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Season and adjust food during the cooking process to achieve the required taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Portion meals accurately, arrange food attractively on plates, and complete dishes with appropriate gravies, sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments.
  • Store raw and cooked food in temperature-controlled environments while following food safety, hygiene, and stock rotation procedures.
  • Prepare meals that accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergy sensitive, and other modified diets, ensuring compliance with customer needs.
  • Assist in planning menus, estimating food quantities, and managing ingredient requirements to minimize waste and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Support the training and supervision of kitchen staff and apprentices by demonstrating food preparation techniques, safe work practices, and kitchen procedures to maintain high standards of performance.

What you'll require is:

  • 2 years or more in a similar position in a busy environment.
  • Cert IV or Higher Qualification related to cookery, kitchen management or hospitality management (preferred)
  • Excellent people skills and a suitable attitude the capacity to lead, grow, and collaborate with a large team.
  • Industry enthusiasm.
  • Being able to take the initiative and lead in these practical roles a strong sense of finance and the willingness to go above and beyond.
