About the role

The Health Projects Coordinator sits within the Health Promotion and Policy Team in the Community Wellbeing Branch and plays a key role in developing and delivering public health initiatives that improve outcomes for Melbourne's diverse community.

The position works across a range of health promotion, policy and community wellbeing projects, building strong partnerships and supporting strategic priorities that promote healthier, more connected communities

A little more about the role

• Identify, develop and deliver public health projects and programs aligned to branch and organisational priorities

• Coordinate service agreements, contracts and project activities to ensure successful outcomes

• Prepare reports, briefing papers, submissions and presentations to support informed decision-making

• Conduct research, analysis and evaluation to improve program effectiveness and respond to emerging public health issues

• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and undertake community engagement activities.

About you

You are an experienced project professional with a passion for public health and community wellbeing. You thrive in collaborative environments, can manage competing priorities, and have the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders.

You may also be:

• A confident relationship builder who can develop partnerships across government, community and health sectors
• A strong communicator who can translate complex information into clear and engaging reports, presentations and communications
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experienced in community engagement and working with diverse stakeholder groups
• Motivated by improving health and wellbeing outcomes for the community.

What your experience might look like – Key Selection Criteria

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Science or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in public health, including developing and implementing effective communication plans and strategies
• Strong project management experience, with the ability to research, develop and deliver projects and programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations and stakeholder engagement
• Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and effectively manage competing priorities.
