Support Worker – Full-Time | Hedland | Personal Care & Community Support

Empowering People In Communities (EPIC) is a not-for-profit organisation delivering disability support and community services across the Pilbara and Goldfields. Our mission is to empower individuals to live more connected, independent lives through inclusive and person-centred support.

Location:
Hedland, Western Australia

Opportunity:
We are seeking experienced and reliable Support Workers, preferably male, for full-time positions based in Karratha. You will support participants with daily living, personal care, and community inclusion, working collaboratively to help individuals achieve their NDIS goals in a respectful and empowering way.

Due to participant preferences and support requirements, male candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualised and high-quality support aligned with participant goals
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities
  • Support community access and social participation
  • Follow direction from participants, families, and EPIC’s Client Coordinators
  • Complete case notes, incident reports, and documentation in a timely manner
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • WA “C” Class driver’s licence (or overseas equivalent with valid visa)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (mandatory)
  • Proven experience supporting people with disability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow support plans
  • Commitment to confidentiality and person-centred practice

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Disability or Community Services
  • Experience with complex care (e.g. PEG feeding, hoisting, manual handling)
  • Experience working with diverse or remote communities
  • Familiarity with NDIS processes and compliance
