Job Title: 2027 Hospital Medical Officer - General Stream PGY3+

• Full time, fixed term position commencing February 2027
• Located in: Frankston, Rosebud, Mornington
• Classification: HM12 – HM20 (plus super)

Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

This PGY3+ placement is designed to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable the junior doctor to consolidate their learning from their PGY2 year, and attain the required skills and knowledge relevant for each rotation. Skills progression should assist the PGY3+ to meet the entry requirements for specialist training programs.

Under the direction of more experienced medical staff, primarily registrars, and through collaboration with other health professionals, the resident provides effective appropriate medical care commensurate with their capabilities and in accordance with delegated clinical privileges that vary from site to site.

The General Stream incorporates a large variety of rotations and a relieving term:

• Emergency
• General Medicine
• Paediatrics
• O&G
• Psychiatry
• General Surgery
• Surgical Specialties
• Rehabilitation
Geriatrics

Skills & Experience Required

We anticipate you will have:

• MBBS or Equivalent
• Current General Registration with AHPRA or Limited or Provisional Registration with a minimum of Level 2 Supervision
2 years of experience within Australian health system preferred

Please note: This position will be based at Frankston and Rosebud Hospitals. However, as part of your employment with Peninsula Health, you may be required to work across all our Peninsula Health sites to meet service needs.
