Full job description

About This Job

I’m looking for a friendly, reliable and patient female support worker to provide practical and emotional support with everyday activities and community access.

The role will include accompanying me to appointments, including psychology and doctor appointments, as well as supporting me to get out into the community and enjoy activities such as shopping, visiting cafés, attending events, going for walks and other activities I’m interested in.

I’m looking for someone who can provide calm, practical support while encouraging my independence, confidence and ability to manage everyday situations.

Experience supporting people with autism and ongoing mental health challenges is highly valued. It’s important that you are patient, understanding, non-judgmental and confident supporting someone who may experience anxiety, overwhelm or difficulties with emotional regulation.

Strong, clear communication skills are essential. I would also prefer someone who speaks English as their first language and is comfortable communicating openly and respectfully.

I would ideally prefer someone under 30, although I’m flexible for the right person. Most importantly, I’m looking for someone who is dependable, respectful, compassionate and genuinely enjoys helping others feel comfortable, confident and included in the community.

Payment

Payment is made monthly through NDIS, in accordance with the agreed support arrangements and applicable NDIS requirements.

How to Apply

Please send me an email with a short introduction about yourself and a simple resume/CV. Please include your age, relevant experience, qualifications or training, and a recent photo of yourself. I’d also appreciate a brief description of why you’re interested in the role and your availability.

Pay: $55.00 – $120.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
