About Us

Moore & Moore Café is one of Fremantle's most loved cafés, located within a beautiful heritage art precinct. We're known for our exceptional coffee, fresh, organic seasonal brunch menu, warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. Alongside our busy café service, we host weddings, corporate events, private functions and community gatherings.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Café Manager who is passionate about hospitality, loves working with people and is excited to lead a team in one of Fremantle's most iconic venues.

About the Role

As Café Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the café while leading and supporting a passionate team. You'll ensure every customer receives outstanding service, every coffee meets our high standards and every team member feels motivated to do their best.

This is a hands-on leadership role, you'll be on the floor with the team, leading by example and creating an exceptional experience for both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café.
  • Lead, motivate and support a team of supervisors, baristas, chefs and front-of-house staff.
  • Recruit, train and mentor new team members.
  • Prepare weekly rosters and manage labour costs.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
  • Maintain high standards of coffee quality, food presentation and service.
  • Coordinate large bookings, private functions and events.
  • Manage stock ordering, supplier relationships and inventory.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the owners and kitchen team to maintain a positive and efficient workplace.

  • Is an exceptional barista with a strong understanding of specialty coffee, coffee extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing and quality control.
  • Understands efficient coffee workflow and can maintain consistency during busy service periods.
  • Has experience training and mentoring baristas to deliver exceptional coffee and customer service.
  • Is highly organised, with experience in rostering, stock control, ordering and daily café operations.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Available to work weekends, public holidays and busy trading periods.
  • Understands that a great café is about more than serving food and coffee, it's about creating genuine connections and giving people a reason to come back.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience managing a busy café or restaurant.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Advanced barista skills and specialty coffee knowledge.
  • Experience with ordering, stock control and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of labour management and rostering.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Social media knowledge, with the ability to keep our Instagram updated with daily specials, events, new menu items and engaging content.
  • Current Australian working rights.
