Matcha Garden is a Japanese-inspired café specialising in matcha and hojicha drinks and desserts. We value quality, consistency, and thoughtful hospitality. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dedicated Café All-Rounder / Barista to join our team long-term.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, all-rounder role where you’ll be involved in all aspects of café operations, including:

  • Taking customer orders and delivering warm, attentive service
  • Preparing matcha, hojicha, and coffee-based drinks
  • Steaming milk confidently and consistently (Latte art is a bonus)
  • Assisting with dessert preparation, baking, and plating
  • Serving food and drinks
  • Daily prep, restocking, cleaning, and dishwashing

At Matcha Garden, we strongly believe in teamwork. There is no strict separation of roles — everyone supports one another to keep the café running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during busy periods
  • Is calm, patient, and communicative with customers
  • Is reliable, responsible, and takes pride in their work
  • Is tidy, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Is passionate about hospitality and eager to learn about matcha and hojicha
  • Values teamwork and a positive working environment
  • Is looking for a long-term role

Previous café experience is preferred, but attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic are just as important.

Shifts & Availability

We are ideally looking for someone who can be flexible and work both day/night shifts.

please note:

  • New team members will begin with training on mid shifts
  • Morning/night shifts will be introduced once you are confident with routines, prep, baking, and service standards
