The CIO is responsible for the development of VECRA’s IT and digital road map, implementation and continuous improvement of technology systems, data and records management governance frameworks, and IT projects and digital initiatives that support effective regulatory operations.

About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA)
The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children through effective regulation, compliance, quality assessment and continuous improvement across the early childhood sector.
VECRA plays a critical system management role, providing guidance, oversight and assurance to the sector while supporting high-quality early childhood education outcomes for Victorian children and families.
About the Role
The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority is seeking an experienced and collaborative Chief Information Officer to lead strategic technology initiatives that support the safety, wellbeing and quality of early childhood education across Victoria.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides strategic leadership and oversight of VECRA's information and communications technology (ICT) function. The CIO is responsible for the development of VECRA's IT and digital road map, implementation and continuous improvement of technology systems, data and records management governance frameworks, and IT projects and digital initiatives that support effective regulatory operations.
Duties include:
- Lead the Technology and Information Branch in delivering high quality services to our staff
- Oversee all ICT-enabled solutions across VECRA and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the existing technology footprint to enable the delivery of VECRA.
- Build strategic relationships and partner with the Information Management and Technology Division in the Department of Education as well as Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) ensuring efficiencies and management of shared risk and project delivery.
- Establish an enterprise-level architecture, and road map for VECRA's digital transformation, including the implementation of a case management system in line with the strategic direction of
- Drive the digital reform program for VECRA, bringing innovative thinking and collaborative problem-solving to create contemporary digital curriculum and assessment solutions.
- Lead records reform to establish new enterprise-wide records management strategy and policy.
