Full job description
- Make a meaningful difference by providing calm, consistent support that helps our customer feel safe, understood and respected every day
- Pay less tax and increase your take-home pay with generous salary packaging
- Be part of an established and trusted disability provider, where strong systems, clear frameworks and a supportive team help you deliver safe, person-centred support
So many lives. So many ways. One you.
50,000 lives and counting.
That’s how many South Australians our people support each year.
As one of the state’s leading not-for-profits, we’re making a meaningful impact at scale. From foster care to aged care and everything in between, our services are as diverse as the people and communities we serve - and we’re growing our reach for the future.
It takes a special kind of person to work in this sector. Someone with real compassion and care. Could that person be you?
Join us as a Support Worker, and be part of something bigger.
What you’ll do
We are looking for motivated, reliable and down-to-earth Support Workers to provide person-centred support to a customer living with an acquired brain injury in the western suburbs.
This role will suit people who are open-minded, patient and confident supporting a customer with complex communication needs. The customer requires support within their home environment, as well as support to maintain positive routines and activities that are important to them, including gym-based activities.
Because our customer faces communication challenges, you will need to be an intuitive communicator who brings patience, clarity and strong verbal English skills to the role.
You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:
- Providing respectful, person-centred support that reflects the customer’s goals, preferences and daily needs.
- Supporting the customer with daily routines, household tasks and meaningful activities, including gym-based activities.
- Communicating clearly, patiently and intuitively with a customer who may require additional time and support to express themselves.
- Assisting with daily living skills and strategies that promote independence, confidence, safety and wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively with the broader support team, family members, guardians and other key stakeholders involved in the customer’s care.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability.
- Strong verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and respectfully.
- Experience supporting people living with disability, acquired brain injury, mental health needs or complex life circumstances.
- An interest in health, fitness or gym-based activities, and confidence supporting someone to participate in these routines safely and positively.
- Availability to work across a 24/7 roster, including passive sleepover shifts.
- A current full Australian driver’s licence.
