St Basil's Homes is seeking compassionate, engaging and community-minded individuals to support our Plateia Program, a CHSP-funded respite and social support program for older people living independently within the community.

The Plateia Program provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants can build friendships, engage in meaningful activities, enjoy outings and experiences, and remain connected to their community. A key focus of the program is promoting wellbeing, independence, inclusion and reducing social isolation.

About the Role

We are currently seeking individuals to support the Plateia Program on either a permanent or relief basis. Available opportunities:

Permanent Program Support

Every Wednesday: 9:00am to 4:00pm
And/or every Thursday: 8:00am to 3:00pm

Relief Program Support

Temporary support opportunities during periods of leave or increased program demand.
Available across Wednesdays and/or Thursdays.

Program Location

The Plateia Program is currently delivered from:

Messinian Hall
68 Stephens Avenue, Torrensville SA 5031

Applicants should be able to reliably travel to and work from this location.

What You'll Do

Build genuine and meaningful relationships with participants.
Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Support social, recreational and wellbeing-focused activities.
Assist with community outings and participant experiences.
Encourage independence, engagement and social connection.
Contribute to a positive, person-centred program experience.

About You

While experience or qualifications in aged care, community services, disability support, hospitality, customer service or similar fields are highly regarded, we are particularly interested in people who:

Have a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Are warm, friendly and able to build meaningful connections.
Enjoy creating positive and engaging experiences for others.
Basic computer skills, including email, electronic documentation and general use of workplace technology.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Value respect, inclusion, dignity and person-centred care.
Greek language skills, cultural knowledge or an understanding of Greek culture are highly desirable, reflecting the participant cohort attending the program.
