Position Title: Truck Delivery Driver

Available positions (flexible days of work)

  • Night Driver
  • Early Morning/Day Driver
  • Early evening Driver

Status: Casual & Full Time Salary contracts available

Reports To: Transport Manager, Transport Supervisor

Terms of Employment:

  • Award: Road, Transport and Distribution Award
  • Contract: FULL TIME SALARY or CASUAL

Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to deliver goods internally and to customers externally in a safe and timely manner. The driver will be responsible for picking up and dropping off items, loading and unloading items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.

Duties:
The list below is not exhaustive, and the duties/responsibilities may vary to meet the overall objectives of the company.

  • Loading, transporting, unloading and delivering items to customers and/or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
  • Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Perform frequent unloading, lifting and carrying of goods. 12 cartons average per delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from customers.
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
  • Preparing paperwork and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
  • Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.

Essential Criteria Licences

  • Valid Driving license

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven work experience as a truck/van driver
  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software
  • Experience with pallet jacks and manual handling techniques
  • No recent moving or driving violations

Ability and Skills

  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Desirable

  • Valid Medium or Heavy Rigid License
  • Industry experience in food service/hospitality.
