About us:
The Interim Admission Centre (IAC) provides access to an interim inpatient bed for patients admitted from the Emergency Department (ED), Outpatient Departments (OPD), unplanned Elective Admissions and Inter-Hospital Transfers (IHT) while a definitive inpatient bed is being sourced. IAC assists Patient Flow through ED by proactively transferring and managing clinically appropriate patients. This in turn reduces the length of stay (LOS) in ED potentially reducing overall length of stay and improving patient satisfaction and outcomes. IAC is a very high paced, dynamic clinical environment which is both unique to the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) and is now the benchmark for other Metro South Hospitals (MSH).

The Transit Care Hub (TCH) provides a systematic approach in early identification and movement of discharging patients through TCH and enhancing every patient journey. TCH helps in creating earlier access for admissions to acute beds by using the 'Pull & Push Strategy'.
